Makery collection by Joesph Hartley

Winning the prestigious award as New Designer of the Year 2012 with his true to form aesthetics, Joseph Hartley is a young designer who is surely making a name for himself. The 27th exhibition held at the Business Designer Centre of London is a graduate competition that displays a series of works created by eager students from different universities and all over the country. Graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University with a first class honors degree in 2012,  the Manchester based designer has managed to develop a signature style that is distinctly Hartley. Known for his use of straightforward materials and effortless technique in construction, his designs often exhibit a pure simplistic design that demonstrates no decorations, motifs or exterior facade. With his durable yet lighthearted objects, his intentions as a designer are for his products to be enjoyed. For more information about Joseph Hartley’s designs, click here.

My parents built a custom home when I was 7, being on site during construction I fell in love with the process. Have you…
