Azerbaijan Cultural Centre
The cultural complex named after former President of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyer Centre is still embodying an elegant presence. With a recent fire occurring this past July, Architect Zaha Hadid has managed to maintain the designed structure with such gracefulness as it continues to resemble an oceanic radiance. With no damages from the fire, and with intentions to liven the building in relationship to its surrounding, the new providing monument will still attract its diverse group interested in the arts. Ranging from libraries, museums and a conference centre, the architectural design most certainly creates a space of fluidity not only through its exterior facade, but also amongst the visitors making their way through the halls. With a large external window as one of its focal points, the use of natural light is emphasized through its ephemeral essence already pinpointed in the soft flowing edifice and all-white exterior.
