Victoria Beckham
Formerly known by the world as “Posh Spice” of the Spice Girls in the late 1990s, Victoria Beckham’s career has thrived as she is recognized as a businesswoman, fashion designer, and style icon. Her early ducation was primarily focused on music after she watched the musical film, Fame, and went on to study dance and modeling. Soon after her studies, Beckham became of member of Persuasion, prior to joining the Spice Girls.
However, Beckham has made headlines for her continuous work in fashion. In 2004, she designed a limited-edition fashion line for Rock & Republic, titled VB Rocks. With an understanding of fashion trends and style, the designer has developed her own denim label, dvb Style, where she serves as the creative director. She has also launched dvb Eyewear for sunglasses, Intimately Beckham for a his-and-her fragrance line, and debuted her cosmetics lines, V-Sculpt in Tokyo. She has contributed as fashion editor for the March 2006 issue of Harper’s Bazazar, acted as the British ambassador for Dolce and Gabbana, modeled for numerous designers during Fashion Week and ad campaigns, and appeared on numerous covers of fashion publications.
Beckham has published an autobiography and a style guide, served as a guest judge on Project Runway, and appeared on television, including documentaries, reality shows, and television series. She was awarded the “Woman of the Year” and “Entrepreneur of the Year” by British Glamour Magazine in 2007. In 2008, Beckham debuted her own collection at New York Fashion Week and has earned critical acclaim for the body-conscious gowns, which have became instant trends and fixtures on the red carpet.
