George Miguel, a celebrity Makeup artist, has been extremely successful lately. He not only works with models and a roster of clientele, but two of his most recent clients include the beautiful Melissa Gorga and Kathy Wakile from The Real Housewives of New Jersey. George has appeared multiple times on this season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey where we can see his talents put to work! His older sister who was always involved with doing makeup and hair first inspired George. His passion and drive to pursue a career in the industry allowed him to succeed and he is continuously motivated to take his career to the next level.

Q. How do you adjust your makeup styles for a tv reality star and a model on the catwalk?
As runway make is fun and playful it can be a little showgirl at times depending on trend.. But out of many of the looks a portion of the look can be very wearable or slightly tweaked

Q: You mention that your sister was who initially inspired you, but what were the actual steps you needed to take that led you to become a celebrity makeup artist?
Yes both my sister an my late mother inspired me greatly I remember watching them but on there makeup and saw how powerful the looked and felt just blew me away…well living in the ny metro area it’s a plus working with top key makeup artist for NYFW really opened a lot of doors for me which led to working with designers , stylists and photographers …It wasn’t easy you have to really prove yourself to the super high pace culture which I love a good ol challenge !

Q: I think your work is beautiful! Every episode Melissa and Kathy look flawless. How did you develop all of these techniques?
I developed most of my techniques and skill out of pure trial and error as I feel most artist do… I honestly I just have fun with it just keep it pretty right ?! .. Take a risk it’s just makeup it can always come off.

Q: How did you catch the eye of RHONJ cast members and spark their interest in your makeup abilities?

Melissa was the first to contact me from the cast… She saw some of my work from a mutual friend and it just want from there.. Melissa great she likes to be a bit playful with her looks.. Then the other cast members just want a piece of George Miguel

Q: Do you have any big upcoming events you will be involved in?
My next big event that I look forward to is this upcoming NYFW this will my 16th season and I still love the rush to this day!

Q: I think it is phenomenal for your career that you are being broadcasted on national television. What are some future goals that you have or hope to accomplish?
Yes it’s pretty awesome to watch yourself in action … People can now put my name to my face as most makeup artist are behind the scenes you really don’t hear of them to much.

Q: What advice would you give to young professionals in the beauty industry seeking an established career just like yours?
You have to have tough skin in this industry… Don’t let the “no’s” stop you keep going forward and don’t look back …Take risks with your talents stand apart from the rest… Lastly network network network that one person can open the door to many others!

JR

JR is an artist whose work is hard to classify, however he calls himself a “Pervasive Artist”, and touches on topics such a poverty, politics, and culture. He pastes large scale, full frame portraits of every day citizens from countries all over the world on buildings, bridges, walls, and a variety of different structures. He wants to create interaction between the subject of the photograph and the many people coming in contact with, and viewing said photograph. JR’s work is all about raising questions, causing discussions, and making people think more about what they see when they come across his projects.   What inspired JR to organize and put together such larger-than-life photography projects? JR’s pasting streek all started with his project Portrait of a…
